Be part of building Scotland’s future

Join our Service Delivery team as a Systems Operation Specialist, and work with colleagues from across Scottish Enterprise to design, develop and deliver our online grant service delivery system. This system allows businesses to apply for grant support more easily, so they can contribute to our mission to help build a strong, vibrant economy for Scotland.

The role

You’ll work closely with colleagues from across Scottish Enterprise to understand what grant services they need to deliver to companies. You’ll examine how they currently deliver services, and support them their move to our digital service platform.

Your aim will be to make access to our grant services simple, transparent and easy for customers – whether they’re applying or claiming online. Ultimately, you’ll find ways to help us to process grant-related transactions quickly and efficiently, so we can realise the business benefits more readily.

Your responsibilities:

Aligned to the design, development and support for the online grant system (OGS), you’ll:

  • Investigate and analyse business activities and processes associated with delivering grant service.
  • Look to improve efficiency through the development and adoption of new processes or capabilities.
  • Design and configure the OGS system for new grants and be a key contact for escalated support tickets with the supplier.
  • Support the product owner and be responsible for reviewing internal and external customer requirements, prioritisation and managing a backlog delivering new or improved services and capabilities.

Who we're looking for

You’ll come to us with proven experience of working with and influencing external and internal stakeholders. You’ll know how to implement on and offline process changes, thereby increasing efficiency and simplifying delivery.

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

  • A background in developing system specification and design requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of configuring digital systems (ideally SmartSimple or an equivalent, configurable system).
  • A strong customer focus, plus the ability to prioritise and manage competing work packages.
  • Proven project development and management expertise.

Ideally, but not essentially, you'll also have:

  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • A focus on details, plus an ability to think innovatively.
  • A good understanding of the principles of economic development.
  • Knowledge of change management.

What we offer

If successful, you'll gain access to the following benefits:

  • Membership of the Scottish Enterprise Pension and Life Assurance Scheme – a pension based on your final pensionable salary, flexible retirement options and generous life assurance cover
  • Up to 43 annual leave days a year (including public holidays) with the opportunity to buy additional holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A health cash plan
  • Our Employee Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Our Employee Assistance Scheme

How to apply

If you're interested in this role, please complete your application form by 17 January 2024.

Interview dates:

  • First interviews will be held on 30 January 2024
  • Second interviews will be held on 6 February 2024
